Aaron Wilson is reporting that Texans RB Tyler Ervin tore his patellar tendon Sunday and will undergo surgery today.
This injury could very well lead to the Texans placing Ervin on injured reserve in the coming days and adding someone to their roster.
Ervin, 23, is a former fourth-round pick of the Texans back in 2016. He’s currently in the second year of his four-year, $2.887 million contract and stands to make base salaries of $540,000 and $630,000 over the next two years of the agreement.
In 2017, Ervin appeared in four games and rushed for 12 yards on four carries to go along with eight receptions for 38 yards receiving and no touchdowns. He also contributed 93 kick return yards and 60 punt return yards.
