Howard, 22, was the No. 23 overall pick by the Texans out of Alabama State. He originally joined his college as a tight end and converted to offensive lineman in 2015.
According to OverTheCap.com, Howard receives a four-year, $12,225,554 rookie contract that includes $6,911,312 signing bonus.
Howard becomes the first ever player for Alabama State to be drafted in the first round.
