The Houston Texans officially waived five players on Monday including LS Anthony Kukwa, DE Ira Lewis (non-football injury), DB Shalom Luani, QB Nick Tiano and G Elex Woodworth.
Teams have the option to either cut down to 80 players now or work in two groups in the facility until August 16 before cutting down, so it appears Houston might be choosing the former.
Tiano, 23, signed with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of UT-Chattanooga following this past April’s draft.
He was one of nine rookie free agents to sign with Houston, but unfortunately won’t have the chance to practice with the team.
