The Tennessee Titans are declining WR Corey Davis‘ fifth-year option for the 2021 season, according to Tom Pelissero.
The fifth-year option was guaranteed for injury only and wouldn’t have prevented them from negotiating a contract extension in the coming months. It was projected to cost them $15,680,000 for the 2021 season.
Davis, 25, was the fifth overall pick by the Titans in the 2017 NFL Draft. He is entering the final year of a fully guaranteed four-year, $25.39 million contract that included a signing bonus of $16.60 million.
Davis will be an unrestricted free agent in 2021.
In 2019, Davis appeared in 15 games for the Titans and had 43 receptions for 601 yards (14 YPC) and two touchdowns.
