Titans Met With DT Jurrell Casey’s Agent To Discuss Contract Tuesday

Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean reports thatย Drew Rosenhaus, the agent for Titans DTย Jurrell Casey, met with the team Tuesday to discuss a contract extension for his client.

  • According to Wyatt, the fact thatย Rosenhaus traveled to Tennessee appears to be a positive sign regarding the current state of the ongoing negotiations.

The Titans have said publicly that they would like to lock up Casey long-term, so we’ll have to see if any real progress is made in the coming days.

Casey, 24, is entering the final year of hisย four-year, $2.732 million contractย and will make a base salary of justย $670,000 for the 2014 season.

He’s coming off of a season in which he was a second-team All-Pro selection. Last year, he totaled 54 tackles, 10.5 sacks, a forced fumble and a recovery for the Titans defense over the course of 15 games.

Pro Football Focusย has him rated as the No. 4 defensive tackle in the league, mainly due to his ability to apply pressure up the middle.
