Titans Sign QB Bryn Renner To Practice Squad, Waive QB Mike Kafka

The Tennessee Titans announced that they’ve signed QB Bryn Renner and WR Gavin Lutman to the practice squad and waived QB Mike Kafka and WR Rico Richardson from the unit.

  • Titans signed QB Alex Tanney from the Colts’ practice squad.
  • Titans placed DT Mike Martin on season-ending injured reserve.

The Titans’ practice squad now consists of:

  1. QB Bryn Renner
  2. WR Gavin Lutman
  3. WR Nick Harwell
  4. DB Shaquille Richardson
  5. TE Kevin Greene
  6. C Dillon Farrell
  7. LB Jason Ankrah
  8. G/T Will Poehls
  9. G Josue Matias
  10. RB David Fluellen

Renner, 25, wound up signing on with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent out of North Carolina back in May of last year. However, he lasted just a few month in Denver before he was waived at the start of the 2014 season.

The Ravens later signed him to a future/reserve contract at the end of last season, but he was once again among their final roster cuts coming out of the preseason. Baltimore called him up last week.

Renner has yet to appear in an NFL game.

Kakfa, 28, is a former fourth round pick of the Eagles back in 2010. Since then Kafka has played for a number of teams including the Patriots, Jaguars, and Buccaneers before signing on with the Vikings back in April.

Minnesota signed him to a one-year $660,000 contract back in April. However, he was placed on injured reserve and later released a few weeks into the regular season.

The Titans signed him just a week ago.

Kafka hasn’t appeared in an NFL game since the 2011 season when he was playing for the Eagles.
