Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Titans are signing punter Tommy Townsend to a two-year contract worth up to $6 million with incentives.
Townsend, 29, originally signed on with the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent out of Florida following the 2020 NFL Draft. He played out the final year of a three-year, $2,292,500 contract.
Townsend was scheduled to be a restricted free agent in 2023 when the Chiefs tendered him at the original round level, worth $2.627 million. The Texans signed him to a two-year contract back in 2024.
In 2025, Townsend appeared in all 17 games for the Chiefs and totaled 3,424 yards on 72 attempts (47.6 YPA) which includes 30 punts downed inside the 20-yard-line.
