The Lions announced that they waived a group of players including Jackson earlier in the day. However, it appears as though the Patriots stepped up and got a trade done before he was officially cut.
Jackson, 23, is a former fifth-round pick of the Cowboys back in 2019. He signed a four-year, $2.8 million contract with Dallas, but was waived coming out of the preseason.
Dallas re-signed Jackson to their practice squad before the Lions added him to their active roster in October.
In 2019, Jackson was active for one game, but did not record a statistic.
