TRADE: Raiders Trade K Eddy Pineiro To Bears

Adam Schefter reports that the Raiders have traded K Eddy Pineiro to the Bears on Monday for a 2021 seventh-round pick.

Pineiro joins Elliott Fry and Chris Blewitt on the Bears’ roster as they prepare for OTAs.

This comes just a day after the Bears cut kicker Redford Jones and John Baron II.

Chicago is clearly doing everything they can to find the right kicker after Cody Parkey‘s struggles last season.

Michael Gehlken mentions that the Raiders were high on Piñeiro last year before the groin injury he suffered in training camp. Oakland will move forward with Daniel Carlson as their placekicker.

Piniero, 23, wound up signing on with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent out of Florida last year. He was, unfortunately, placed on injured reserve with a groin injury coming out of the preseason and missed the entire year.

During his college career at Florida, Pineiro converted 56 of 58 extra point tries (96.6 percent) to go along with 38 of 43 field goal attempts (88.4 percent) over the course of two seasons and 24 games.
