The Baltimore Ravens recent decision to sign Curtis Painter is not an indication that they’re looking to replaceย Tyrod Taylor as their No. 2 quarterback, according to head coachย John Harbaugh.
“Tyrod is our No. 2 quarterback; I want to make that very clear,” Harbaugh said. “Everybody competes for their job, there’s no doubt about it, we believe in that, we always will, but he’s our No. 2 quarterback. He’s entrenched as our No. 2 quarterback.”
Painter is guaranteed little more than a chance to compete during training camp, but there’s an obvious connection to the Ravens, seeing as they hired former Colts head coach Jim Caldwell a few months back. Painter wound up beating out Kyle Boller and Dennis Dixon for the spot, which is surprising considering how bad he played last season.
