According to Paul Kuharsky, Vic Beasley has finally reported to the Titans for COVID-19 testing on Friday after missing around two weeks.
Ian Rapoport reports that the Titans have fined Beasley $500,000 for this unexcused absence.
Turron Davenport notes that Beasley will now have four days to submit three negative COVID-19 tests.
A few weeks ago, Titans GM Jon Robinson issued a statement regarding the absence of Beasley, saying that they expect him to report to camp in the “near future.”
“On Tuesday July 28th, we placed Vic Beasley on the Reserve Did Not Report list. I have been in contact with Vic, he is not here, he understands his absence is unexcused, and he told me he will be reporting to camp in the near future. Our current focus is on the players that are here now, getting everyone acclimated to the protocols, our building, and our football program. We will have the same acclimation process with Vic when he reports,” Robinson said.
The Titans placed Beasley on the reserve/Did Not Report list.
Beasley, 27, is a former first-round pick of the Falcons back in 2015. He played out the final year of his four-year, $14.5 million contract but the Falcons picked up his fifth-year option worth $14,200,000 for the 2019 season.
The Titans signed Beasley to a one-year contract worth up to $12 million this offseason.
In 2019, Beasley appeared in all 16 games for the Falcons and recorded 42 total tackles, 8 sacks, two forced fumbles and two pass defenses.
