Ian Rapoport of NFL Media mentions that the Browns could take a look at hiring Vikings assistant GM George Paton as their next general manager following the news that they’re hiring Kevin Stefanski as their new head coach.
It makes sense that the Browns would consider pairing Paton and Stefanski, given that they’ve worked together in Minnesota.
Reports have said that the Browns’ plan all along was to first hire a head coach before turning their attention to their next general manager.
Cleveland has also requested interviews with Andrew Berry and Ed Dodds for the GM job.
Paton has been a popular name in GM searches over the past several years. However, he has declined to interview for a number of jobs to remain with the Vikings.
We’ll have more regarding the Jets’ GM search as the news is available.
