Vikings Have Discussed Possibly Signing G Josh Kline

According to Darren Wolfson, the Vikings have had an “external chat” about possibly signing G Josh Kline to a contract.

The Vikings are clearly looking for some offensive line help and Kline is among the best available options so this isn’t a big surprise.

It’s worth mentioning that signing him to a contract won’t impact a team’s 2019 compensatory picks, given that he was released this offseason.

Kline, 29, signed on with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent out of Kent State back in 2013. He was on and off of the Patriots’ practice squad during his first year, but managed to secure a larger role during the 2014 and 2015 seasons.

New England elected to cut Kline loose at the start of the 2016 season and he was later claimed off of waivers by the Titans. Kline played out the final year of his contract before agreeing to a four-year, $26M contract with the Titans last year.

Tennessee released Kline last week.

In 2018, Kline appeared in all 16 games for the Titans and is rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 50 guard out of 77 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Top 100 Available Free Agents list.
