Chris Tomasson of the Pioneer Press reports that the Vikings have expressed interest in CB Darryl Roberts, who was released by the Jets last week.
However, Tomasson says that the Vikings have yet to make Roberts an offer and he may have other teams higher on his list of potential landing spots.
It’s worth mentioning that signing Roberts to a contract won’t impact a team’s 2021 compensatory picks, given that he was released this offseason.
Roberts, 29, is a former seventh-round pick of the Patriots in 2015. He was waived with an injury designation in 2016 and claimed off waivers by the Jets.
Roberts signed a three-year, $18 million extension with the Jets last year and was set to make a base salary of $5 million for the 2020 season when New York released him a few weeks ago.
In 2019, Roberts appeared in 13 games for the Jets and recorded 63 tackles, one interception and six passes defended.
We have him included in our Top 100 Available 2020 Free Agents list.
