According to Tom Pelissero, the Vikings will promote WR Alexander Hollins to the active roster from the practice squad for tonight’s game against the Seahawks.
Pelissero adds that the Vikings are placing LB Ben Gedeon on injured reserve after suffering his second concussion of the season.
With WR Adam Thielen sitting out because of his hamstring injury, this move gives Minnesota four healthy wideouts tonight.
Hollins, 23, was signed by the Vikings as an undrafted free agent out of Eastern Illinois following the 2019 NFL Draft. He was waived by the team coming out of the preseason and later re-signed to the practice squad.
During his two-year college career, Hollins caught 127 passes for 1,796 yards and 23 touchdowns in 22 games.
Gedeon, 25, is a former fourth-round pick of the Vikings back in 2017. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $3.03 million contract and stands to make base salaries of $645,000 and $735,000 over the final two years of the agreement.
In 2019, Gedeon appeared in eight games for the Vikings and recorded 12 tackles and no sacks.
