Vikings Re-Sign C Brett Jones To One-Year, $1.5M Deal

The Vikings announced on Monday they’ve re-signed C Brett Jones

According to Chris Tomasson, the deal is for one year and can potentially be worth as much as $1.5 million with incentives.

Jones will make a base salary of $850,000 and has a signing bonus of $100,000.

He previously had interest from the Seahawks, Jets, Eagles and Chiefs, but the Vikings had a big need at center and were able to secure Jones.

Jones, 27, was selected in the second round of 2013 CFL draft by the Calgary Stampeders. In just two years with the Stampeders, Jones has won CFL’s Most Outstanding Rookie Award (2013) and the Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman Award (2014).

Jones signed on with the Giants back in 2015 and returned to New York on a one-year restricted deal worth $2.914 million for the 2018 season. The Giants later traded him to the Vikings in August for a 2019 seventh-round pick.

In 2018, Jones appeared in all 14 games for the Vikings and played 191 total snaps.
