Kline, 30, signed on with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent out of Kent State back in 2013. He was on and off of the Patriots’ practice squad before securing a larger role during the 2014 and 2015 seasons.
New England elected to cut Kline loose at the start of the 2016 season and he was later claimed off of waivers by the Titans. Kline played out the final year of his contract before agreeing to a four-year, $26M contract with the Titans in 2018, but was cut after one season.
The Vikings signed him to a three-year, $15.75 million contract last offseason and was set to make base salaries of $4.45 million and $4.7 million over the final two years of his agreement.
According to OverTheCap.com, releasing Kline created $1,569,791 in cap space and $4,466,667 in dead money.
