Tom Pelissero of USA Today reports that the Vikings are releasing WRย Mike Wallace.
Last night,ย Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports mentioned that he’d be “shocked” if Vikings WR Wallace wasn’t among their roster cuts coming in the next 48 hours.
Wallace, 29, wasย in the fourthย five-year, $60 million contractย that includedย $30 million guaranteed. He was setย to make base salaries ofย $11.45 million over the next two years.
According toย OverTheCap.com,ย releasing Wallace willย free up $11.5 millionย in available cap space while creating noย dead money.
In 2015, Wallaceย appeared in all 16 games for the Vikings and recorded 39 receptions for 473 yards receiving and two touchdowns.ย Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 96 receiver out of 121 qualifying players.
