ESPN’s Chris Mortenson reports that the Minnesota Vikings and Vincent Jackson are discussing a possible deal that may be an incentive based contract somewhere in the range of $4 – $6 million.
Jackson and the team seem to be willing to work out a deal but the Vikings are obviously concerned about what they would have to give up if they were to acquire him from San Diego. A smaller contract would help to offset the Chargers asking price which could actually get the ball rolling on an agreement between the two teams.
If the Vikings struggle with their passing offense this week, they will have to consider making an even more serious run at Jackson. Remember that Vikingss owner Zygi Wilf has already said that they are willing to go “all in” this season and a struggling offense could force their hand in trade talks.
