Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that it’s “unfathomable” that both Browns HC Mike Pettine and GM Ray Farmer will return next season.
Pettine indicated that there was some discord between the front office and coaching staff a week ago.
According to Rapoport, the coaching staff does not think the scouting department provided them with nearly enough ammo to run the game plan. However, the scouting department does not think the coaching staff is making enough in-game changes to utilize the players properly.
Cleveland is currently 2-10 on the year and are in the drivers seat for the No. 1 overall pick, so the news that changes are expected in 2016 is hardly a big surprise.
It’s actually interesting that Rapoport leaves the possibility open to either Pettine or Farmer being back next year. You would think the Browns would prefer to clean house and start over with a better organization structure.
Either way, it sounds like big changes will be coming to Cleveland in the coming months.
