Cowboys TE Gavin Escobar Suffers Torn Achilles, Out For Season

Cowboys HC Jason Garrett told reporters following Saturday night’s loss to the Jets that TE Gavin Escobar tore his Achilles and will miss the remainder of the 2015 season, per Charean Williams.

The Cowboys will likely place Escobar on season-ending injured reserve in the coming days.

Escobar, 24, is in the third year of his four-year, $4.21 million rookie contract that included a $1.442 million signing bonus. He’ll make a base salary of $787,772 this season and another $979,158 in 2016.

Entering tonight’s game, Escobar appeared in 13 games and caught eight passes for 64 yards and one touchdown for the Cowboys.
