49ers Haven’t Closed Door On Re-Signing WR Anquan Boldin

49ers GM Trent Baalke tells Tom Pelissero that they haven’t closed the door on re-signing veteran WR Anquan Boldin at some point.

However, Baalke said that both sides are currently taking their time looking at their available options. As of now, Baalke mentioned that they’re comfortable with their current group of receivers.

There hasn’t been a lot of interest in Boldin since the free agent market opened several months ago. Although, he did visit with the Redskins, but didn’t receive an offer from the team.

Boldin, 35, is a former second-round pick of the Cardinals back in 2003. He spent seven years in Arizona before being traded to the Ravens in 2010. Baltimore later traded him to the 49ers where’s he’s remained for the past three seasons.

Boldin finished out his two-year, $12 million contract that included $5.5 million guaranteed and is testing the market as an unrestricted free agent.

In 2015, Boldin appeared in 14 games for the 49ers and caught 69 passes for 789 yards receiving and four touchdowns. Pro Football Focus rated him as the No. 33 overall receiver out of 119 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Best Available Free Agents list.
