$21.4M Of Browns LB Jamie Collins’ Contract Becomes Fully Guaranteed Today

According to Joel Corry of CBS Sports, $21.4 million of Browns LB Jamie Collins‘ 2017 and 2018 salary becomes fully guaranteed today.

This breaks down to $4.75 million 2017 base salary, a $6 million 2017 roster bonus, and $10.65 million of Collins’ 2018 base salary.

The $21.4 million was guaranteed for injury at the time that Collins signed his four-year, $50 million extension last month, but is now fully guaranteed.

Collins, 27, is a former second-round pick of the Patriots back in 2013. The Patriots surprisingly traded him to the Browns for a conditional 2018 fourth-round pick that can become a 2017 third-round compensatory pick, depending on whether Cleveland receives one next year.

The Browns signed him to a four-year, $50 million contract that contained $26 million guaranteed and a $5 million signing bonus back in late January. He stands to make base salaries of $4.75 million (2017), $10.65 million (2018), $10 million (2019) and $12 million (2020).

In 2016, Collins appeared in 15 games for the Patriots and recorded 112 tackles, three sacks, two interceptions, two forced fumbles and three pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 44 edge rusher out of 109 qualifying players.
