B.J. Daniels Clears Waivers After Being Cut By Giants, Now A Free Agent

Last week, the Giants placed QB B.J. Daniels on waivers to make room for QB Logan Thomas.

On Monday, Daniels officially passed through waivers unclaimed and is now free to sign with a team of his choosing.

Daniels, 26, is a former seventh-round pick of the 49ers back in 2013. He lasted less than a year in San Francisco before he was waived and later claimed by the Seahawks.

Daniels was off of the Seahawks’ practice squad for over two years before the Texans signed him to their active roster in December of last year. Unfortunately, Daniels’ stay in Houston lasted just a few months, as he was waived in the weeks leading up to this year’s draft.

The Giants elected to signed Daniels to a contract in May, but it appears as though they would prefer to take a shot on Thomas.

In 2015, Daniels appeared in eight games and record one catch for 12 yards receiving to go along with six rushes for for six yards and no touchdowns. He also completed one of two passes for seven yards.
