The Chicago Tribune reports that Chicago Bears LG Chris Williams will miss the remainder of the 2011 season after suffering a wrist injury during Sunday’s blowout win against the Detroit Lions. Williams was taken to hospital during halftime where an emergency surgery was preformed on his wrist.
Tough loss for the Bears as their offensive line was gelling quite well in recent weeks and Williams was playing great at the guard position. Edwin Williams figures to be the guy who will replace Williams at left guard. Chicago is still hoping to get rookie OT Gabe Carimi back at some point this season but he underwent an arthroscopic debridement procedure on his right knee last Friday.
