The Chicago Bears announced the signing of former Buccaneers LB Mason Foster to a one-year deal on Wednesday.

Jen Lada of CSN Chicago first reported that the Bears are signing former Buccaneers LB Mason Foster to a contract.

The Bears brought Foster in for a work out close to two weeks ago. Previous reports had said that the two sides were discussing a three-year contract, but there wasn’t a lot of buzz regarding him joining the Bears in recent days.

Foster, 25, played out his four-year, $2,784,372 rookie contract that included $1,401,562 guaranteed.

Last year, Foster appeared in 10 games and recorded 62 tackles and three pass defenses for the Buccaneers. Pro Football Focus has Foster rated as the No. 43 inside linebacker out of 60 qualifying players.

We had Foster listed as the No. 63 player in our Top 100 Free Agent List.
