Panthers Re-Sign S Eric Reid To Three-Year Deal Worth Over $22M

The Carolina Panthers announced Monday that they’ve have re-signed S Eric Reid to a three-year contract through the 2021 season.

According to Mike Silver, Reid’s three-year contract is worth over $22 million. 

“I feel comfortable here. I was excited just to get it done,” Reid said of not testing the open market, per Max Henson. “I fit well into this defense.

Reid, 27, is a former first-round pick of the 49ers back in 2013. He played out the final year of his four-year, $8,480,736 contract with the 49ers before signing a one-year contract with the Panthers last year. 

Reid was in line to be an unrestricted free agent again in 2019.

In 2018, Reid appeared in 13 games for the Panthers and recorded 71 tackles, one interception and five pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 53 safety out of 93 qualifying players.
