This comes as no surprise, given that Hartline suffered a broken collarbone on Sunday.
Hartline, 29, signed a two-year, $6 million contract that included a $1.5 million signing bonus with the Browns back in March. He stands to make a base salary of $1.5 million this season and another $3 million next year.
This season, Hartline recorded 46 receptions for 523 yards receiving and two touchdowns over the course of 12 games.
Richardson, 25, is a former seventh-round pick of the Rams back in 2012. He spent two years in St. Louis before he was waived and later claimed by the Jets, but was unfortunately among the team’s early roster cuts.
The Texans signed Richardson in September and was on and off of their practice squad for most of the year before being waived a few weeks ago
Richardson hasn’t appeared in an NFL game since the 2013 season when he ran for 215 yards on 69 carries (3.1 YPC) to go along with 14 receptions for 121 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
