Mike Jones of the Washington Post reports that the Browns have signed C Austin Reiter off of the Redskins’ practice squad.
This means that the Browns plan on carrying Reiter on their active roster.
Reiter, 24, is a former seventh-round pick of the Redskins back in May of last year. He was unable to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason last year but was later signed to the team’s practice squad.
Washington elected to bring Reiter back on a future/reserve contract this past January and he was able to crack the 53-man roster this year. However, the Redskins waived Reiter last week before adding him to their practice squad.
Reiter has yet to appear in an NFL game.
