Browns Sign Second-Round QB DeShone Kizer

The Cleveland Browns announced Wednesday that they’ve signed second-round QB DeShone Kizer to a four-year rookie contract.

Kizer, 21, was selected with the No. 52 overall pick by the Browns. Some felt that Kizer has first-round ability and the highest ceiling of any of this year’s quarterback prospects, but he’s coming off of a disappointing season and struggled with consistency, which led to him falling to the Browns in round two.

According to OverTheCap.com, Kizer will receive a four-year contract worth $4,498,412, which includes a signing bonus of $1,738,844.

During his two-year college career at Notre Dame, Kizer completed 422 passes on 695 attempts (60.7 percent) for 5,805 passing yards, 47 touchdowns and 19 interceptions.
