Buccaneers Sign Veteran S Major Wright

Adam Caplan of ESPN reports that the Buccaneers and S Major Wright have agreed to a one-year contract on Tuesday.

Wright, 28, is a former third-round pick of the Bears back in 2010. He played four years in Chicago before signing on with the Buccaneers in 2014.

Wright was in the final year of his two-year, $3 million contract that included $1.25 million guaranteed and set to  make a base salary of $1.5 million in 2016 when he was released during the final week of the preseason.

In 2015, Wright appeared in nine games and recorded 25 tackles, no interceptions and four pass defenses.
