Buc’s Fire Raheem Morris

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have fired head coach Raheem Morris and hit staff following a very disappointing 2011 season that included a ten-game losing streak to close out the season.

We want to thank Coach Morris for all his hard work and dedication as head coach of the Buccaneers,” said Buccaneers co-chairman Joel Glazer.

Sunday’s performance against the Falcons was as embarrassing of a loss as one can imagine. Tampa was losing 42-0 with 6:50 remaining in the second-quarter. There’s no doubt that the blame falls on Morris but the players absolutely no showed which should garner even more criticism.

It’s believed that the team will retain GM Mark Dominik but he too should shoulder some of the blame. This team has young talent but very little depth at certain areas. Green Bay is the second-youngest team but their depth is what allows them to put up 45 points without their starters. That’s not the case in Tampa.
