Cardinals Expect To Have Extensions In Place For Steve Keim & Bruce Arians In The Coming Weeks

Cardinals president Michael Bidwill says that he expects contract extensions for GM Steve Keim and HC Bruce Arians to be in place in the next few weeks.

“I think it’s the right thing to do, and I want to reward people that have had success and brought success to the team,” Bidwill told Doug and Wolf Wednesday on Arizona Sports 98.7 FM. “I can’t think of two people more deserving — coach of the year, two times in three years, executive of the year.

“They’ve both done tremendous jobs, brought tremendous leadership and success to the organization and I want to be in the habit of rewarding people that bring that kind of success.

Bidwill has previously said that his intention was to take care of Arians and Keim, so this is really just a reaffirmation of their plans.

I think you’ll see something done here in the next few weeks,” Bidwill said.

There’s no question that both Keim and Arians have earned new contracts after what they’ve managed to do in the past two years.

Arians won his second Coach of the Year award in 2014 and Keim has done a good job of adding some young talent in recent years.

In two years in charge of the Cardinals, Keim and Arians have led the team to a record of 21-11 (65.6 percent) and a playoff appearance, despite dealing with as much adversity as any team in the league.

We’ll have more regarding extensions for Keim and Arians as the news is available.
