Cardinals OLB Alex Okafor Suffers Torn Biceps, Deciding Whether To Undergo Surgery

According to Ian Rapoport, Cardinals OLB Alex Okafor has opted against having surgery on his torn biceps tendon and will play through his injury.

Cardinals HC BruceĀ Arians told reporters that OLB Alex Okafor suffered a torn biceps tendon in recent says, per Darren Urban.

  • Arians added that Okafor is currently in the process of deciding whether he’ll undergoĀ surgery. Although, he did say that it’s possible Okafor could play through the injury, per Josh Weinfuss.

While Okafor wasn’t guaranteedĀ to be a starter for the Cardinals this season, losing him for a prolonged period of time would definitely affect their depth, and could lead to them bringing someone in.

Okafor, 25, is a former fourth-round pick of the Cardinals back in 2013. He’s currently in the final year of his four-year, $2.634 million rookie contract and stands to make a base salary of $675,000 for the 2016 season.

In 2015, Okafor appeared in 13 games for the Cardinals and recorded 31 tackles, two sacks, one recovery and a pass defense.
