Cardinals Placing CB Mike Jenkins On I.R. With Torn ACL

According to Darren Urban, the Cardinals are placing veteran CB Mike Jenkins on the injured reserved after tearing his ACL during Sunday’s preseason game.

Jenkins, 31, is a former first-round pick of the Cowboys back in 2008. He spent five years in Dallas before signing on with the Raiders as an unrestricted free agent in 2013.

Just a year later, the Buccaneers gave Jenkins a one-year deal and later brought him back on another one-year contract for the 2015 season.

The Cardinals signed Jenkins to a one-year, $885,000 contract this offseason.

In 2015, Jenkins appeared 14 games for the Buccaneers and recorded 17 tackles, no interceptions and five pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 94 cornerback out of 111 qualifying players.
