According to his agent Brian McLaughlin, the Arizona Cardinals signed their sixth-round pick WR Walter Powell, per Aaron Wilson.
While Powell may not have great speed, he was very productive at Murray State due to his route running, and ability after the catch. He should challenge for playing time in the slot down the road. Powell also projects as a special teams ace, which will certainly be his ticket to making the team.
Arizona did sign Ted Ginn Jr., who is the presumptive favorite for kick and punt return duties, though Powell could challenge him with a good camp.
Powell had 66 receptions for 837 yards and 13 touchdowns in his senior season.
