The San Diego Chargers officially signed LB Chris McCain to their practice squad on Wednesday.
The Chargers’ practice squad now consists of:
- OT Brett Boyko
- S Adrian McDonald
- WR Dom Williams
- TE Jake McGee
- RB Andre Williams
- NT Ryan Carrethers
- DB Trovon Reed
- DB Michael Lee
- LB Chris McCain
- LB Carlos Fields
McCain, 24, wound up going undrafted out of California back in 2014. He’s managed to make the 53-man roster in each of his first two years in the NFL and was in the final year of his three-year, $1.53 million rookie contract and was set to make a base salary of $600,000 for the 2016 season.
McCain was traded to the Saints but was waived as the team cut their roster down to 53 players. Dallas signed him to their practice squad just a few days later but unfortunately waived him in September.
McCain has been off and on of the Saints’ active roster this season.
In 2016, McCain has appeared in two games and recorded one tackle for the Saints.
