Colts Promote RB Jonathan Williams To Active Roster

The Indianapolis Colts announced Tuesday that they’ve promoted RB Jonathan Williams to their active roster.

Williams, 24, is a former fifth-round pick of the Bills back in 2016. He was in the second year of his four-year, $2.58 million contract when the Bills waived him coming out of the preseason.

Williams had a brief stint on to the Broncos’ practice squad before joining the Saints last year. New Orleans cut Williams coming out of the preseason and he had a brief stint on their practice squad before he was signed to the Colts’ taxi squad.

In 2016, Williams appeared in 10 games and rushed for 94 yards on 27 carries (3.5 YPC) and one touchdown.
