Colts Send 2 Draft Picks To Miami In Exchange For CB Vontae Davis

NFL Insider Jay Glazer reports that the Miami Dolphins have agreed to trade CB Vontae Davis in exchange to the Indianapolis Colts in exchange for a second-round draft pick and a conditional, undisclosed late-round pick.

“We appreciate all the contributions Vontae has made to the Dolphins since we drafted him in 2009, and we want to wish him the best of success in Indianapolis,” said Miami general manager Jeff Ireland.

Colts Owner Jim Irsay tweeted earlier in the week that the Colts were in the market for a proven veteran, which ultimately caused plenty of speculation that they could be targeting either Maurice Jones-Drew or Mike Wallace. It really made more sense for them to acquire a cornerback that can help the back end of their defense, instead of a running back.
