Colts Sign S Dwight Lowery

The Indianapolis Colts announced the signing of veteran S Dwight Lowery on Friday.

Lowery recently met with the Colts and the team had said that they were planning to add a veteran safety at some point, so this probably shouldn’t come as much of a surprise.

Lowery, 29, spent last season with the Falcons, and had a decent season despite the secondary’s struggles overall.

Before Atlanta, Lowery spent three seasons with the Jets, and three seasons with the Jaguars.

In 2014, Lowery appeared in all 16 games for the Falcons and recorded 79 tackles, one sack, two interceptions, two forced fumbles, a recovery and five passes defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as as the No.38 safety out of 87 qualifying players last year.
