Colts In Talks With At Least Two Teams About Trading CB Vontae Davis

Adam Schefter of ESPN is reporting that the Colts are receiving trade inquiries for CB Vontae Davis ahead of the upcoming deadline.

According to Schefter, Indianapolis is talking to at least two teams about a potential trade involving Davis.

Davis has been the Colts’ best cornerback the past few years, but he’s currently in the final year of his contract and set to test the open market next March. If the right offer comes along, it would not be surprising to see them move on from Davis.

Davis, 29, is a former first-round pick of the Dolphins back in 2009. He spent three years in Miami before he was traded to the Colts for the 2012 season.

Davis is in the final year of his four-year, $36 million contract that included $20 million guaranteed and stands to make a base salary of $9 million for the 2017 season.

In 2017, Davis has appeared in four games and recorded 17 tackles, no interceptions and a pass defense.

We’ll have more regarding a potential Davis trade as the news is available.
