Eagles Have No Plans To Trade ILB Mychal Kendricks

Eagles HC Chip Kelly told reporters on Sunday that ILB Mychal Kendricksis not going anywhere“, despite talk for months that he could be available for trade.

“Mychal Kendricks is not going anywhere, I can tell you that right now,” Kelly said, via CSN Philly. “You can write that down in ink, not pencil. He’s not going anywhere.

The Eagles sent CB Brandon Boykin, who has been rumored to be in the trading block for months, to the Steelers for a conditional draft pick, so it’s not surprising that some wondered if Kendricks could be next.

The months leading up to the draft, reports indicated that the Eagles were willing to trade Kendricks, which seemed to make sense given that Philadelphia traded for Kiko Alonso and later extended the contract of DeMeco Ryans.

Kendricks, 24, has one year remaining on his four-year, $4.29 million rookie contract, which includes a base salary of $896,060 for the 2015.

In 2014, Kendricks appeared in 12 games and recorded 83 tackles, four sacks, three forced fumbles, and three pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 6 inside linebacker out of 60 qualifying players.
