Eagles QB Nick Foles’ Shoulder Is “Fine”, Will Practice Sunday

Eagles HC Doug Pederson told reporters on Sunday that QB Nick Foles is “fine” and will take part in their Sunday practice, despite the shoulder injury he suffered a few days ago, per Jeff McLane.

Foles’ arm was hit by a Patriots’ defender while attempting a pass downfield. He was taken into the medical tent but was seen on the sideline soon after.

Foles told reporters on Saturday that his throwing shoulder is “a little strained” and he plans to get treatment on injury Friday.

“I was getting ready to throw a deep ball and it got grabbed as I was following on through, so it sort of got a little strained,” Foles said, via Pro Football Talk. “So, you know, I was with the trainers, I’ll go in tomorrow and get treatment on it and sort of go from there. But it feels all right, feels pretty good. Hopefully there’s no issues.

“[W]hen you’re following on through on a deep ball and somebody grabs your arm when you’re going, it’s not the best feeling,” Foles added. “But I feel optimistic about it and I’m excited to get into treatment tomorrow and just get this thing moving forward.

Foles, 28, is a former third-round pick of the Eagles back in 2012. Philadelphia traded Foles to the Rams back in 2015 in a deal for QB Sam Bradford and he later signed an extension with the Rams.

Unfortunately, Foles lasted just over a year with the Rams before he was released last summer and later signed by the Chiefs. The Eagles signed Foles to a two-year, $11 million contract that includes $7 million guaranteed this past March.

Foles was set to make a base salary of $4 million in 2018 when he agreed to a restructured contract this offseason.

In 2017, Foles appeared in seven games and completed 56.4 percent of his passes for 537 yards, five touchdowns and two interceptions. Beyond that, Foles led an impressive playoff that culminated in a Super Bowl title and him being named Super Bowl MVP.

We’ll have more regarding Foles’ injury as the news is available.
