Eagles Were Contacted About A Potential Trade For Nick Foles During The Draft

Tim McManus of Philly Mag writes that the Eagles were reportedly approached by at least one NFL team regarding a possible trade for QB Nick Foles.

The Eagles “weren’t all that interested in engaging in talks” and McManus adds that GM Howie Roseman personally called Foles amid all the trade speculation to reiterate that he’s still a part of their plans moving forward.

Philadelphia surprisingly traded up and selected QB Matt Barkley with the first pick of the fourth-round, which is interesting considering that they already have Michael Vick and Foles on their roster. Keeping Foles does make some sense, especially when you consider that Vick has missed a number of games due to injuries in the past few seasons, and the fact that new HC Chip Kelly appears to be very high Foles’ ability.

I’m sure we’ll be hearing plenty about the Eagles quarterback position in the coming months.
