Biermann, 29, is a former fifth-round pick of the Falcons back in 2008. He played out his rookie contract and later signed three-year extension with Atlanta.
He was among the best defensive ends still available in free agency, so it’s really not surprising to see them lock him up, especially now that Greg Hardy is off the board.
In 2014, Biermann appeared in all 16 games for the Falcons and recorded 77 tackles, 4.5 sacks, a forced fumble and three pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the N0. 42 defensive end in a 4-3 defense out of 59 qualifying players.
