The Falcons announced they’ve waived former third-round DB Dezmen Southward and promoted S Akeem King to their active roster.
Southward, 24, is in the second-year of his four-year, $3.125 million rookie contract that included a $690,832 signing bonus. He stands to make base salaries of $564,665 (2015), $696,666 (2016), and $762,837 (2017).
This season, Southward has appeared in three games and recorded one tackle for the Falcons.
Hunt, 22, was taken in the seventh round of this year’s draft. However, he was unable to make the team coming out of the preseason, but was quickly added to their practice squad.
