Giants Activate DE Romeo Okwara From Injured Reserve, Waive LB Jeremy Cash

The New York Giants announced Tuesday that they’ve activated DE Romeo Okwara from injured reserve and waived LB Jeremy Cash.

The Giants officially designated Okwara to return from injured reserve a few weeks ago, which officially opened a three-week window of time for them to activate him or he would have spent the remainder of the season on I.R.

Okwara, 22, signed on with the Giants as an undrafted free agent out of Notre Dame back in 2016. He is in the second year of a three-year, $1.62 million contract and is set to earn a base salary of $540,000 this season.

The Giants placed him on injured reserve back in October after sustaining an MCL injury.

So far this season, Okwara has appeared in five games and recorded three total tackles.
