Giants Could Still Trade WR Hakeem Nicks

Update:

Giants GM Jerry Reese hasn’t ruled out the idea trading WR Hakeem Nicks.

“We keep all of our options open,” Reese said, via the New York Daily News. “Hakeem played well this last game, but we always keep all of our options open. You never say never until 4 (PM ET). So we’ll see what happens.”

Nicks has reportedly been available for several weeks and yet nothing has progressed to the point where there is even remote chance of an agreement being reached. Several teams could use help at receiver, but the Giants would like to sign Nicks to a long-term deal and are apparently unwilling to part with him for anything less than a huge offer.

We have Nicks listed as the No. 12 player in our Top 50 – 2014 Free Agents list.

We’ll have more regarding Nicks throughout the day.

Ralph Vacchiano reports that the Giants unlikely to trade WR Hakeem Nicks before today’s 4pm est deadline.

  • Ian Rapoport reports that the Giants have “resisted answering calls at this point” regarding Nicks.
  • Rapoport adds that it would take “monster offer” to land Nicks at this point.
