Dan Graziano of ESPN reports that the Giants are planning to bring in recently released S Stevie Brown for a workout next week.

This news really shouldn’t come as a major surprise given that Brown previously played for the Giants, and the number of injuries New York has sustained at the safety position.

While it seems like a no-brainer for Brown to return to the Giants, there’s at least a chance that other teams in need of safety help could show some interest in him.

Brown, 28, signed a one-year, $825,000 contract that included a $40,000 signing bonus with the Texans back in April, but was officially released on Saturday.

In 2014, Brown appeared in all 16 games for the Giants last season and recorded 38 tackles, one sack, and a pass defense. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 47 safety out of 87 qualifying players.

We’ll have more regarding Brown possibly returning to the Giants as the news is available.
