Hakeem Nicks Says He’s “Nowhere Near Finished”, Has Visits Lined Up With A Few Teams

Free agent WR Hakeem Nicks tells Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports that he’s “nowhere near finished” and plans to continue his NFL career, even though were close to a month into free agency and he has found very little interest.

I’m nowhere near finished, man, and I want to prove that to the world and everybody,” Nicks said. “That’s definitely my mentality, but I don’t even want to talk about it. I feel like I got into that situation last year talking about it. I’m about to just go out there and prove it.

Nicks’ agent, Peter Schaffer, said his client has a few visits lined up, but wouldn’t reveal what teams he’ll be meeting with.

The 49ers hosted him for a visit not too long ago, but there hasn’t been any indication that they plan to sign him to a contract.

This is just speculation on my part, but it would not be surprising to see Nicks visit with the Dolphins given that they have been bringing in a number of veteran receivers in recent weeks.

Nicks, 27, is a former first-round pick of the Giants back in 2009. He played out his rookie contract with the team, but unfortunately found very limited interest as a free agent last year and was forced to sign a one-year, prove-it contract with the Colts.

In 2014, Nicks appeared in all 16 games for the Colts and caught 38 passes for 405 yards receiving to go along with four touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 105 receiver out of 110 qualifying players.
